Advocacy & Teaching
Linda Crider has dedicated her entire life in service to the health and fitness needs of Americans. Her work as a volunteer goes back to her early contributions while a graduate student in the university to her current commitment in environmental education and the health and physical activity needs of people. In 1979, Linda was instrumental in creating the Florida Bicycle Program, which has become a national model as well as Bike Florida.

Linda has received prestigious awards, including the Spurgeon Cherry Award and LEEF Leadership Award. She is recognized for her groundbreaking work in active transportation and environmental advocacy, including the establishment of the Florida Bicycle Program, a national model.

Linda continues to speak, perform, and write on topics such as bicycle safety, environmental health, and sustainable living.
Active Transportation & Planning Expertise
Linda has over 35 years of experience in active transportation and community health. She developed Florida’s Safe Routes to School program, led the creation of the Florida Bicycle Program, and provided bicycle and pedestrian safety training across the nation. Her work as a planning consultant and educator continues to impact communities, promoting healthy transportation choices.
Music & Environmental Advocacy
Linda is a folk musician and environmentalist. With Anhinga Roost Music Company, she has produced songs and multi-media projects about Florida’s endangered wildlife and healthy living.
Her music and performances engage audiences in environmental and health advocacy. Currently, she plays music with friends, family, and at festival and events. Most recently, she played with Sam Wimberly at the Bartram Frolic.
